Kimball Peed, Senior Consultant, Draper & Associates' Capital Programs Division (CAP). The company is a consulting firm focused on formulating and implementing solutions to a wide range of business and management challenges.

Kimball's responsibilities have included contract administration and internal audit on behalf of the Real Estate Management Division. Georgia State University 's Design & Construction Services Office is a client for Qualifications-Based Selection procurements of professional construction services.

With more than 17 years of leadership experience in State of Georgia public service, Kimball's expertise lies in program and project management of complex and diverse project needs ranging from procuring, contracting, and managing engineering, construction, and capital improvements programs, to business process reengineering. Mr. Peed has held management positions with the Georgia Department of Corrections, the Georgia State Financing & Investment Commission (GSFIC), and the Georgia General Assembly.

Additionally, Mr. Peed served as the Director of Contracts for GSFIC, where he was responsible for managing solicitations for public construction projects and developing extensive practices in new methods of Qualifications-Based Selection of professional construction services for state government. In conjunction with the Office of the Attorney General of Georgia, he made extensive contributions to the development of new design and construction contracts for the State of Georgia.
Michael Weiss, Ph.D., President and Founder of WorkingBuildings, a professional services company whose offerings include building commissioning, LEED® Certification, risk threat analysis and mitigation. Michael has developed a vigorous quality-control process that has been implemented through commissioning and construction quality-control programs in new construction and major renovation projects throughout the United States. Michael has been involved extensively with the Building Commissioning for Providers Course as well as the USGBC Laboratory for LEED® initiative. He also serves on the National Institute for Building Sciences' Commissioning Task Force and the General Services Administration Commissioning Review Team. He has been nominated for the prestigious Benner Award four times during the last six years. Dr. Weiss is a founding member and past president of the Building Commissioning Association.

John McFarland, Principal and Dtr., Engineered Systems at WorkingBuildings.
John has years of experience designing, constructing and commissioning building systems for laboratories, hospitals, data centers, natatoriums, libraries, conference centers, and office buildings and has been involved in many LEED® projects. John is a registered professional engineer, a Certified Commissioning Provider by the Building Commissioning Association, and a member of the ASHRAE Standard 62.1
Steve Baer, Principle, Five Winds International*, Steve leads the Building and Construction sector for Five Winds. He is a LEED® AP, CIE, holds a degree in chemical engineering and has extensive experience in manufacturing, product development and process management. His commitment to sustainability principles and influence in the green building arena are evident by his active participation in the USGBC, Indoor Air Quality Association, National Center for Energy Management and Building Technology, and the Alternative Fuel Renewable Energy Council. Steve serves on several committees of USGBC that are dedicated to expanding the LEED® program by incorporating LCA in the next version. He is a member of the LEED® Materials and Resource Technical Advisory Committee. He has made presentations at international sustainability conferences including Greenbuild, Enviro Design, Healthy Buildings, UNEP/SETAC Environmental Initiative, and AIA. Five Winds International is a worldwide strategic sustainability consulting firm that provides a broad range of services to corporations, SME's, Governments, NGO's and Associations.

Dr. John Heckman, Director, Five Winds International* leads Five Winds' Management Systems as well as leading the company's energy industry practice. He is a recognized expert in developing and implementing management system solutions for sustainability related challenges and has presented and published numerous papers on management system implementation, ISO 14001 certification, pollution prevention, and life cycle management programs. Dr. Heckman has led projects in sustainability strategy development, management system implementation and improvement, sustainability benefit valuation, and risk control framework information system development. He has project experience in a wide array of industrial sectors including energy utilities, oil & gas exploration and production, maritime, consumer products, electronics, automotive, military, aviation, manufacturing, retail, and government.

Josh Hendry B.Sc. (Env) is an Analyst with Five Winds International. He has been involved in a range of public and private sector projects related to industrial sustainability and stakeholder engagement.

His diverse work has included several research and interview-based projects related to Life Cycle Management, Materials Stewardship, Sustainable Purchasing, Eco-efficiency, and Design for Environment.

Mr. Hendry has worked to create a series of best practice summaries and creative educational diagrams for use in a Materials Stewardship guidance document for the metals and mining sector. He has also evaluated community level stakeholder perspectives on the sustainability performance of a multi-national metals company and assisted on a benchmarking study which evaluated provincial recycling initiatives from a Design for Environment perspective.
Don Davenport, Executive Vice President, EMC Engineers*, a multidisciplinary firm with strong credentials in energy engineering and commissioning. Don is an expert in the field of commissioning and has years of experience, not only in performing commissioning services, but also as an instructor for University of Wisconsin's continuing education program, which is a prerequisite for becoming certified by the Building Commissioning Association. In addition, he performs training classes and workshops both introducing retro-commissioning, and providing more advanced case-study materials, including instruction to BCA, ReBuild, and local utility programs. He has also provided input for the development of programs for major utilities and state construction offices.

Carl Lundstrom, P.E., CCP, Vice President of Facility Services for E M C Engineers, Inc*. (EMC) in Atlanta, Georgia. He is responsible for managing engineering services in the areas of building commissioning, retro-commissioning, recommissioning, building automation consulting, systems integration, and mechanical-electrical training. He has extensive experience in the management of commissioning projects, including writing specifications, test procedures, coordinating contractor testing, and providing training, with special emphasis on energy-efficient systems. Carl is actively involved in the Building Commissioning Association. He was elected to the Board of Directors in 2002, and was the President of the association in 2007. Carl is a Certified Commissioning Professional (CCPTM), by the BCA. Carl worked on the Georgia State Finance and Investment Commission's commissioning steering committee to develop the current State of Georgia building commissioning guidelines. Carl and his team have completed over 200 commissioning projects nation-wide, including buildings receiving LEED® certification through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Carl has provided training and seminars on commissioning and automated controls including University of Wisconsin-BCA training 2003-2008 "Building Commissioning for Commissioning Service Providers.
John Adams, PE, LEED AP, has been involved with building operations since 1980 through his work at Georgia Tech’s Enterprise Innovation Institute. By 1999, he worked on building efficiency almost exclusively. His engineering design and improvement projects at Georgia Tech and in private consulting include HVAC optimization, ventilation engineering, heating/cooling renovations, indoor air quality, safety vent hoods, compliance consultations, regulatory penalty mitigation and building automation/simulation/commissioning. On loan from Georgia Tech, Mr. Adams provided expert support to the U.S. Department of Energy, US Army, and currently General Services Administration, providing technical services to save energy and taxpayer dollars by advancing energy efficiency and water conservation, promoting the use of distributed and renewable energy, and improving utility management and sustainability decisions at federal sites. At the General Services Administration, he provides LEED Accredited Professional support, commissioning, building automation, and HVAC services on new and existing buildings. John holds a Bachelors and Masters in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. He is a registered Professional Engineer in 22 states.
