Course Description This learning experience is designed to provide Construction Managers and General Contractors with a comprehensive review of the commissioning process. Of particular importance are those activities, beginning with the construction phase, that particularly involve the CM and the GC.

The course is organized around the five phases of the process. In each phase the course examines:
  • Key activities
  • Desired outcomes
  • Participant roles and responsibilities
  • Key documents
The course provides interactive activities to guide the learner through the steps within each phase and to highlight key features of the documents covered in that phase.
Learning Objectives
  • Describe the goals and activities within each commissioning phase.
  • Describe the roles and responsibilities of the commissioning team members for each phase of the building commissioning process.
  • Describe the specific tasks and responsibilities that CMs and GCs typically perform in each phase of the project.
  • Explain how the activities and outcomes of each phase are related to down-stream phases.
  • Complete and interpret required commissioning documents and identify the phases in which they are utilized.
